Who Is Vin?
Vin Mott began playing drums at the age of 7 years old. Growing up in Pequannock Twsp, NJ, he took every opportunity throughout middle and high school to hone his craft in and outside of school. Always in-demand as a drummer, he also began learning new instruments such as guitar, vocals, and harmonica, and writing songs in various bands at this time, developing a love for various styles and genres.
Vin went on to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors of Songwriting, Drum Set being his principal instrument. In 2013 while maturing as a blues artist on the local NJ bar scene he began teaching music lessons at well-known lessons studios, as well as privately, and began to recognize a new-found talent for educating students of all ages.
From 2020-2024, Vin relocated to Austin, TX where he thrived as a blues vocalist and harmonica powerhouse on the local scene and as a top-level freelance drummer in all roots music styles. He also continued to grow in his passion for teaching music, becoming evermore energized as he watched his students flourish into accomplished musicians.
After his time spent in TX, Vin has come back to NJ where he’s busier than ever freelancing as a sideman, running his blues band, and teaching music lessons. He plans to continue to grow as an artist and to share his lifelong passions and love of music with a new generation.
